Improving quality of life for the differently abled Children & Adults

Dear Family and Friends,

On Wednesday November 23rd there was a tragic plane crash at the superstition mountain that took the lives of the Perry children and their father. Luke and Morgan have been receiving services through our center for years now and this loss has impacted our staff in a way that words cannot describe. Our hearts go out to Karen and all the family members of this tragic accident.

The management team along with Luke’s treating therapists met this morning to discuss ideas on how best our center could honor the Perry children. It was decided by everyone present that a library would be the most appropriate and suitable means to honor the children and allow their lives to touch the lives of everyone who enters the doors of Lauren’s Institute for Education in the future. It is well known throughout our center that Luke Perry was a huge fan of books, he is remembered most fondly for his love of Winnie the Pooh. It is our hope that this library will serve to help other children find this same love for books that Luke had.

We want to create a Library in the front lobby that we will call “Perry’s Corner”. We are looking for a donation of wood to create the shelves and we believe we may have someone who will actually build them for us. We are also asking our Lauren’s Institute for Education Family to please donate new and/or slightly used books in honor of the Perry Children. You may also donate a gift card for a book store (such as Barnes and Nobles) if you prefer, or bring in funds that L.I.F.E. will use to buy books. Checks should be made out to Lauren’s Institute or LIFE, and please put “Perry” in the memo line.

The books will go to complete the library and to donate to those children in need at Christmas time. We will be accepting the books and any other donations you wish to make towards this project starting tomorrow.

We have learned that services will be held for the entire family on Friday December 9th at 1:30 pm. Services will be held at the Superstition Foothills Baptist Church, 6338 S. Kings Ranch Rd. Gold Canyon, AZ 85118. For more information please see the Family Memorial Website

Please keep all the families of this tragic accident in your thoughts and prayers.

This is my personal prayer; “Dear God, Thank you for allowing us the honor of knowing Morgan, Logan and Luke. Thank you for allowing us time with Sean and his precious children. Thank you for allowing us however short the time was to share in these amazing children’s journey. We are blessed because of them and they will continue to encourage us to further the good work being done here.”
